This section is the core part of the DevelopmentEducation.info portal. Here you can search and access a large variety of teaching resources on Development Education/ Global Education, which have been recommended by teachers from across Europe. The Development Education Resources Depository is the outcome of the work conducted by the Teachers Advisory Groups (TAG) of each partner country. The project acknowledges the fact that highly valuable Development Education resources have been developed by many organizations over the past decades; however it recognises the difficulties of teachers and educators to access the existent material, as well as to apply these resources to their local or national educational context. Especially in the New EU Member States, teachers often face difficulties accessing these resources. Moreover, there is only a limited range of Development Education resources available to teachers in their own language, matching the local school curriculum. The Development Education Resources Depository is designed as a depository for Development Education/ Global Education teaching resources, which have proven successful in schools, and which are considered ‘good practices’ by teachers of the project Teachers Advisory Group. However, the aim is to open up the depository to teaching material recommended by any teacher across Europe and the globe. In addition to collecting and categorizing the teaching resources, the project team in collaboration with the Teachers Advisory Groups has begun to translate and modify several of the resources, so as to match each country’s school curriculum and specific context. Doing so, teachers will have easier access to material to support their classroom activities and to integrate Development Education and a global approach into their lessons. At the same time, the depository serves as a support mechanism by teachers for teachers, and contributes to closer ties and connections across schools, educators and pupils in Europe.
